"Become an accountant"

- Martin

My story

Martin is a street kid. He ran away from home to years of being neglected and abused. He lived on the streets for a few years and was then taken to Kampiringisa by the police. A center that brings discipline to children the hard way. Martin has been transferred to Foodstep where he has more hope for the future and can go to school. Martin is in his 6th year next year. Martin likes to go to school and wants to become an accountant. Martin loves playing football, reading books and novels.

Why Martin needs our help

No family

Martin is supported by impact partner Project Foodstep

Foodstep in Uganda was founded 16 years ago by the Belgian couple Werner and Nathalie. They were touched by the distress of the many street children, children from the children's prison and severely neglected children. They started in their own home with 2, then 15 and eventually 50 children. They decided to buy a piece of land and create a warm house on it. Together with a team of social workers, foster mothers, staff for the administration, cooks, drivers, pastor, etc., Foodstep has grown into a beautiful, safe and loving place for the children. All the children who live there have been placed there by child protection and the judge, their situation was untenable. Children at Foodstep all go to school, receive good medical help, nutritious meals, social care but above all a lot of love!
