Tshego is supported by impact partner Project Held Gulugufe
Gulugufe (pronounced: koeloekoefè) means butterfly in Chichewa, the local language in Malawi. Just as a caterpillar eventually undergoes the miraculous metamorphosis into a beautiful butterfly, we also want to see this metamorphosis in the life of every human being.
We want to receive, help and love every person hospitably, regardless of faith, race or background. The following core values are very important to us:
Putting Jesus first and honoring Him
In all our actions we want to put Jesus at the center! We want to follow Him and make Him visible, through who we are and how we act. We want to be dependent on God and we want everything we do to be for the glory of God.
Seeing the consequences of poverty in people, in the broadest sense of the word, does something to us. It touches us and gets us moving. Poverty is not only material, but also a disposition and way of thinking. Poverty takes away your sense of dignity and makes you believe that you don't matter. Poverty robs you of freedom and creativity. It extinguishes your faith, hopes and dreams for a better future. Driven by God's love for us and compassion for people, we fight together with other individuals and organizations.
