My story

Witney was 6 years old when she was abandoned by her parents after the divorce. An observant neighbor saw the distress Withey was in and took her to the police station. There is still no trace of the parents. The police have handed over the care to Foodstep which is now Witney's home and where she is cared for. Sponsorship allows Witney to work at her school and pursue her dream of becoming a judge. Witney loves playing netball and dancing in her spare time.

Whitney is supported by impact partner Project Foodstep

Foodstep in Uganda was founded 16 years ago by the Belgian couple Werner and Nathalie. They were touched by the distress of the many street children, children from the children's prison and severely neglected children. They started in their own home with 2, then 15 and eventually 50 children. They decided to buy a piece of land and create a warm house on it. Together with a team of social workers, foster mothers, staff for the administration, cooks, drivers, pastor, etc., Foodstep has grown into a beautiful, safe and loving place for the children. All the children who live there have been placed there by child protection and the judge, their situation was untenable. Children at Foodstep all go to school, receive good medical help, nutritious meals, social care but above all a lot of love!
